Wireless Internet Use Sees Steady Increase
A recent study shows that more people are connecting to the Internet through wireless technology than ever before.
The study, conducted by the Pew Research Center’s Internet and American Life Project, finds that 59% of American adults connect to the Internet using wireless devices. That’s up from 51% in 2009.
Of those surveyed, 59% said they use a laptop or mobile phone to access content online.
Cell phone owners are also using their mobile devices to access the Internet – 38% now access the Internet via cell phone, which is an increase of 13 points since one year ago, and, according to the report, 34% send or receive email on their phones, an increase from 25% in 2009.
As technology improves, people are connecting with each other from new places – in new ways – every day.
